Sheltered under the foothills of the San Jacinto mountains in Palm Springs lies the stunning Mediterranean boutique hotel, the Korakia Pensione.
A true escape from reality, the Korakia is quiet and intimate, yet steps away from the bustle of Downtown Palm Springs. The courtyards are ornamented with stone fountains, lanterns floating in the tree tops and mismatched Moroccan pillows slung atop day beds in the shade. The perfect place to curl up with a book or rest your head for a nap.
Korakia’s Bedouin suite, where we spent New Year’s Eve, has a private balcony, fireplace, record player, full kitchen and my favourite part, a Moroccan stone tub. We blasted Etta James while toasting champagne in the tub.
Since we were celebrating my birthday, our ENGAGEMENT (!!!) and a new year, I got up early to snap a few photos to commemorate our time here. If you plan on booking a stay at the Korakia Pensione, be mindful of other guests. The Korakia is very cognizant of the guests privacy, and frown upon DLSR photography. If you’d like to take photos, do so when no other guests are around.
I hope you enjoy these photos and that it inspires you to book your own getaway to this paradise. With two saltwater pools, complimentary hot breakfast, bikes for exploring, Moroccan tea in the afternoon, and courtyard movies in the evening, you’ll never want to leave!
Scroll down to see why Forbes Travel named the Korakia Pensione one of the “sexiest hotels in America”.
