Vegas Schmegas. Nashville, Smashville. LA, no way. New Orleans? New BOREleans. Okay, I’m kidding. All of those places are fabulous Bachelorette destinations, but they are makin’ room for the new kid on the block. Palm Springs. Thanks to Coachella, travel bloggers and the amazing work of the media and tourism boards in Palm Springs, this corner of California is becoming the new hot spot for Bachelorette parties!
Thinking about choosing Palm Springs as your fling before the rings destination? Read on for the Ultimate Guide to Planning a Palm Springs Bachelorette!
Where to Stay in Palm Springs
Renting a house on AirBnb is your best bet for accommodating a large group of girls. There are so many great mid-century modern houses on Airbnb with pools. Here are a few of my favorites:
Roseta House – 6 guest, 3 bedrooms, 4 beds, 2 baths
Beautiful Midcentury Oasis – 8 guests
Chill Poolside Mid-Century Pad – 8 guests
Earth Modernist Pool Home – 10 guests
Hotels
Prefer to couple up and stay at a trendy hotel with infectious energy? Here are a few fun ones:
The Saguaro
The rainbow-coloured hotel with an on-site Mexican restaurant with the best tacos and margaritas. Located a little outside of the main drag of Palm Springs, but close to the Ace hotel.
The ACE
The ACE hotel is one of the youngest, trendiest hotels in Palm Springs. A converted Howard Johnson hotel with two pools, a bar, and onsite restaurant, King’s Highway.
ARRIVE
Hotel with a pool, on-site ice cream shop(pe), ping pong, bocce, bar, and restaurant. Fun vibes all around and a great location.
The Parker
Prefer a quieter vibe with the dreamiest decor and potential celeb sightings? Look no further. (Not booking? Come to Norma’s for brunch one day during your Palm Springs Bachelorette!)
Fun Things to do for a Palm Springs Bachelorette
Group Photoshoot
Purchase/Pack Colourful vintage outfits and hire a professional photographer to snap pic’s around town for a photoshoot. You can frame the photos as keepsakes. I highly recommend Brianna Broyles!
Spa Day!
Head to the Parker for some pampering at Palm Springs Yacht Club and have a meal at Norma’s. Another great spa is the Sands Hotel. Make sure to grab drinks or eat at the Pink Cabana afterward! Looking for a full day of pampering during your Palm Springs Bachelorette? Spend the day at Two Bunch Palms
Pool Party Hoppin’
Make the rounds and hit up multiple hotel pools that are just a short Uber away from each other.
- Colony Palms “The Purple Palm” for Brunch
- ARRIVE for poolside games
- ACE hotel for DJ music
- Drinks at the Saguaro
Staying at an Airbnb?
Hire Butlers in the Buff (A girlfriend of mine just got back from a Palm Springs Bachelorette and she said Daryl from BITB was amazing) or Manservants for your pool party
Shopping
El Paseo: Shop this famous strip in Palm Desert (about 25 minutes outside of Downtown Palm Springs) and book pedicures or blowouts at one of the spas on the Drive. Wilma and Frieda is a great brunch spot on El Paseo (they also have a new location in downtown Palm Springs)
Stay local: Shop Downtown Palm Springs on North Palm Canyon Drive & The Shops at Thirteen Forty-Five
Outlets: Head to Cabazon & Desert Hills Outlets for a serious shopping sesh (complete with photos by the famous dinosaurs and windmills)
Vintage Shopping: Head to the Frippery or The Fine Art of Design
Group Cycles around Downtown
Hop on a cycle tour: Try Social Cycle that offers 2-Hour tours, stopping at a few bars & restaurants, or Sunny Cycle. The bike has a flatscreen TV, stereo, USB phone chargers, misters and electric motor function so you can sip without worrying about sweatin’ too hard.
Rent Bicycles: Prefer to just rent bicycles and explore the mid-century modern streets snapping photos? Rent Bikes from Bikes PS
Day/Overnight Trip
Head to Joshua Tree National Park (only about an hour drive from Palm Springs) or explore the weird and wonderful Salvation Mountain art installation
Time to eat! My favorite Palm Springs restaurants:
