Gifts for people that work from home

Working from home has its challenges. It tests your discipline, work ethic and productivity skills. I’ve worked from home for the past 2 years, and have learned there are a few must-have items needed to have a successful workday.

Here is a list of the best gifts for people that work from home! Yes, yoga pants made the list. Shocker. Ps. some items below contain affiliate links at no extra cost to you. Thanks for supporting this blog xx

Cozy Robe

If you follow me on instagram, you’ve probably seen me dancing in this cozy robe. I know I should really get dressed every day, but one of the joys of working from home is that you can in fact work in pajamas. Or have a solo no pants party. This robe is the softest thing in the world. SO many people ask where it is from when I post in it, so here ya go!

Nespresso Machine

Coffee, a freelancers BEST friend. I’ve never been one to make an entire pot of coffee for just myself, but I didn’t love the quality and taste of the keurig pods. Enter, Nespresso. This coffee is incredible, and I love that I can make lattes at home instead of just a generic cup a’ joe. Just make sure you can recycle the pods in your area.

Matcha and Matcha Kit

Matcha is all the rage right now! This is the perfect afternoon pick me up. People that work from home tend to need this extra jolt of energy, and it’s a nice excuse to take a 15 minute break, something that can easily be neglected when you’re working as your own boss.

These candles are insanely popular. Working at home can start to feel a little stuffy, so I love lighting candles or turning on my diffuser (see next item below) to refresh the air a little. This candle is also a great prop for anyone that owns an online business and takes photos in their home.

Diffuser & Lavendar Essential OilGrapefruit Essential Oil

This is my favourite gift on this list because it’s something I use every day at home. Essential oils have a plethora of health and mental benefits. Not to mention, they make any space smell fresh, clean and inviting. Diffusers and essential oils have been a key player in cultivating my creativity at home while working.

Large Calendar

Any organizational tool will be a great gift for people that work from home! Seriously. It can be really difficult to stay focused and on task, so calendars, planners, post-it’s and fancy pens are always helpful. We don’t have the office closet to sneak into for white-out, so any stationary is handy!

I love using a Sodastream throughout the day to meet my water intake goals. I add a few drops of bitters in there for digestion benefits. Daily soda water without the recycling! If you’re looking for more eco-friendly gifts, check out this post on environmentally-friendly gift ideas!

Notebooks are great for anyone that works from home to jot down notes, random thoughts or to-do lists. Without coworkers and bosses emailing you deadline reminders (one too many times..) it’s nice to have a few books to keep you motivated and on task. Working from home can also be pretty stressful, so I love writing in journals in the morning to start my day off on the write foot. See what I did there? 😉

Bose Speaker

Working from home means no buzz of the office surrounding you. A spotify playlist and a good bose speaker can make all the difference! Speaking of, another gift idea could be a music subscription to Apple Music or Spotify Premium if they don’t have one already!

Yoga Mat

There are a ton of free yoga apps out there, like Down Dog, so if I ever feel like taking a quick break and stretching it out, I can do so with an at home yoga mat.

Anthropologie Mug

Nothing like a cozy mug to sip your coffee from! Anthropologie has a ton of lovely patterns. Makes a great gift if you’re on a budget, or paired with your favourite coffee/matcha.

Standing Desk

Have you heard that sitting is the new smoking? If you’re looking for a gift that will help with posture, but don’t want to break the bank, this standing desk on Amazon has great reviews. I’d say skip it if it’s for anyone over 6 feet though!

One of the hardest things about working from home is constantly being reminded of all the chores around the house. A Roomba or other easy cleaning tools can help eliminate the distractions!

Gift certificate to a home cleaning service

Working from a clean workspace has been proven to increase productivity. Give the gift of a clean “office” to someone who works from home.

Amazon Echo

It’s like giving them an at home assistant without the eye rolls. You can ask an Echo research questions, for help around the house, or to be your personal DJ.

Double Insulated Mug

Anyone else unable to sip coffee fast enough, so you just leave a third of it cold in the cup? I’ve wanted one of these for a long time (hint hint to any family reading this hehe). I’ve heard great things about this mug for keeping coffee hot long enough to actually get through it! There is nothing worse than microwaved coffee. Enter, the double insulated mug.

Lululemon Nulu Fabric Yoga Pants

Okay, where have these been all my life?! I recently popped into Lululemon and bought a pair of these and haven’t taken them off. These pants feel like they are made with butter. So soft!! The ultimate work attire and a great gift for anyone that works from home or on the go.

Massage Gift Certificate

No matter how hard you try, if you work from home, chances are you’ll end up on the couch, the bed and then back to your couch at some point. It’s hard to stay put in your home office. This can’t be good for the back. Working from home can be stressful too, so giving them an excuse to get out of the house and treat themselves is the perfect gift!

Classpass Membership

I don’t think I could have survived the last few years of entrepreneurship without a solid exercise routine. Classpass is great because you can try multiple studios. I love mixing yoga, spin, HIIT and barre classes into my schedule. Click here to get $40 off! They can cancel anytime, so a 3 month gift to try it out would be awesome!

Headspace Membership

Meditation has helped my productivity immensely. Headspace or Calm are two great apps that offer paid memberships and access to hundreds of guided meditations.

Gift card for a Local Coffee Shop Near Them

Just maybe not Starbucks 😉 And make sure they offer Wifi

Meal Prep Subscription

Like Hello Fresh or Fresh Prep to make their lunches or dinner at home

A Good Blender for morning smoothies or Juices

My parents bought us a Vitamix a few years ago and I use it almost every single day! Ninja’s and Magic Bullet’s are a great budget friendly option too!

Tribe of Mentors Book

This is a great book if the person working from home is an entrepreneur, working on a side business or loves Tim Ferris/other inspirational humans 🙂

Live Plant with a Nice Plant Holder

Snake plants are notorious for being low maintenance for those that don’t exactly have a green thumb. Here is a list of the best plants for air quality that would make great gifts!

I hope this helps you with some ideas for gifts for people that work from home! xx
